Privacy Policy
Lapland Adventure Guide uses a small amount of anonymised analytics to understand how people find and use the site. Here is exactly what that means. You can browse our tour reviews at https://www.lapland-adventure-guide.com.
What We Collect
Nothing you actively provide. This site has no contact forms that store data, no newsletter signup, no user accounts, and no comment sections. I personally review every email that comes to mia@lapland-adventure-guide.com and I delete correspondence within six months unless you ask me to keep it. If you email me directly, I will have your email address and whatever you choose to share, that correspondence stays in my email inbox and is never shared.
Analytics
This site uses Google Analytics 4 with IP anonymization enabled. GA4 collects anonymised data about page views, time on site, and general geographic location (country/city level). No personally identifiable information is collected. Google's privacy policy applies to the data they process on their servers.
Tracking Links
Links to Viator use standard referral parameters. When you click a link and book, Viator records the referral source. Viator's privacy policy governs data collected during bookings. This site never sees your booking details or personal data.
Cookies
Google Analytics sets first-party cookies for session tracking. No third-party advertising cookies are used on this site.
Your Rights
Under GDPR, you have the right to access, rectify, or request deletion of any personal data. Since this site does not store identifiable personal data (the analytics are anonymised), there is typically nothing to access or delete. If you have emailed me and want that correspondence deleted, reply to the thread and ask, I will delete it and confirm within 48 hours.

Third-Party Services
This site uses the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies: Google Analytics (analytics), Google Fonts (typography), and Viator (referral links). No data is shared between these services by this site.
Changes to This Policy
This privacy policy was last updated in June 2026. If any changes are made, the updated date will be reflected at the bottom of this page.
How We Protect Your Data
This site uses Google Analytics 4 with anonymized IP addresses and GoatCounter, a privacy-first analytics tool that doesn't set tracking cookies and doesn't collect personal data beyond a daily visitor count and referring page. GoatCounter runs on a self-hosted server in Frankfurt, so visit data stays within the EU. We use these tools to understand which Arctic tour guides are actually being read so we can write better content for future visitors.
Affiliate Links and Cookies
Every Viator link includes a publisher tracking parameter (PID P00303273 and MCID 42383). When you click through and book within 30 days, Viator sets its own cookies to attribute the booking and pays us a commission at no extra cost to you. We don't see your name, what you booked, or any personal information beyond the commission amount. Your booking data lives entirely with Viator.
Your Rights Under GDPR
If you're in the EU, you have the right to request a copy of any data we hold, ask us to delete it, or restrict its processing. We don't collect personal data beyond a cookieless visitor count, so there's effectively nothing to export, but if you've emailed us, we'll honour any deletion request within 30 days. The data controller is Mia Ahola, reachable through the contact form above.
Updates to This Policy
We review this privacy policy every six months. The current version was last updated in August 2026. Material changes, anything that affects what data we collect or how we use it, will be announced via a banner on the homepage for at least 30 days before the change takes effect. For minor wording updates (typo fixes, clearer language), no banner is shown. If you want to be notified of policy changes, follow our newsletter or check back here periodically.
